Start With Prayer
God is sending you to the harvest.
Jesus doesn't just send his twelve closest disciples to the towns ahead of him. In Luke 10, Jesus sends all 70 of his followers in small teams into the harvest!
After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. (Luke 10:1-3)
In verse 20, Jesus reminds the 70 and us that the most important thing is that you are a beloved child of God.
To the delight of the 70, they actually have all the spiritual authority that Jesus promised them! Jesus wants us to be full of his Holy Spirit and authority today. Pray with a friend and ask Jesus to use you and your gifts in this harvest.
The seventy returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:18-20)
We need you, and you need us.
The foot and the hand need each other, in the body of Christ. We all need to play a role in witnessing communities. You have gifts for the harvest, but you need the gifts of your friends too. Who do you want to join you?
Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body...But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be... As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
